What is Karaoke Love?
By
Cowboy Bill
First of all, Karaoke Love is whatever I say, because I made it up.
Let's say a singer gets up and sings. If they sing terribly, you still clap and encourage them. When they improve, you will have had a part in it because you accepted them as they are. If they are good singers already, they will put on their best performance.
Karaoke Love is like the Golden Rule. Treat others like you would like to be treated.
Karaoke Love is the energy in the room - hearing the music and having a good time, singing together, laughing and sharing. It is developing the camaraderie that comes from singing karaoke together. And, yes, Karaoke Love is even tolerating those that don't exercise Karaoke Love.
Karaoke Love is the feeling a singer gets when he receives the accolades of the crowd after a good sing.
Karaoke Love is NOT:
putting one's fingers in one's ears when someone is singing
speaking ill of bad singers (especially when they can hear you)
being too pushed out of shape if a KJ misses you in the rotation (bring it to their attention, of course). KJs make mistakes too.
